Balcony or Terrace
Renée Gaddis Interiors
Check Out the View
“Part of a Naples condominium, this balcony was designed as an extension of the interior living space,” says designer Renée Gaddis. “We maximized the panoramic vistas with an open layout and glass railings that ensure uninterrupted sightlines. Furniture with clean, modern lines complements the surrounding natural beauty without distracting from it. Plush seating arrangements invite relaxation, while textured outdoor fabrics ensure durability against the elements.”

Exterior Use of Stone or Tile
Christopher Cawley Landscape Architecture
Solid Appeal
“By integrating a diverse palette of materials such as stone, wood, and brick, we evoked a sense of authenticity and permanence in the outdoor spaces of this Miami Beach residence,” says landscape architect Christopher Cawley. “Each material contributes its unique texture, color, and character, creating a cohesive yet dynamic landscape that resonates with timeless elegance. With its rugged durability and natural beauty, stone serves as the cornerstone of this design philosophy, offering a sense of strength and grounding.”

Outdoor Living Space
Affiniti Architects
Coastal Cachet
“The meticulously landscaped backyard of this Jupiter estate includes a spacious lawn, a private dock, and multiple seating areas,” says architect Mitch Kunik. “A covered lanai with outdoor lounge furniture seamlessly connects the interior to the exterior, providing shaded areas for relaxation. The property also features a waterfront tiki hut, perfect for entertaining guests or enjoying serene sunsets by the water. The extensive use of glass doors allows for unobstructed views of the Intracoastal, further enhancing the seamless indoor-outdoor transition.”

Landscape Architecture
DWY Landscape Architects
Tropical Oasis
“At the heart of this Sarasota backyard lies a swimming pool framed by custom terrazzo paving, extending indoor finishes outdoors while reducing heat-island effects,” says landscape architect David W. Young. “The Florida-friendly botanical palette of native and drought-tolerant species adds privacy, shade, and biodiversity while minimizing water use and maintenance emissions. We reimagined site circulation, hardscape, pool, and planting design to create a tranquil retreat for a young family, their friends, and their dog.”

KWD Landscape Architecture
Resort Approach
“Located on the Intracoastal Waterway in Boca Raton, this estate’s landscape was inspired by modern tropical design,” says landscape architect Krent Wieland. “The modern hardscape is complemented by lush tropical greenery and planting beds, achieving the clean aesthetic desired by the clients. Subtle landscape framing and color guide the views.”

Pool Design
Perrone Construction
Liquid Assets
“The pool in this Sarasota home features a large swimming area with a traversing limestone walkway that connects the primary bedroom, club room, family room terraces, and the summer kitchen,” says builder Ricky Perrone. “Just below the deep swimming pool is a spa, followed by a sun-worshiper’s shelf. Carved out of the side of the sun shelf is an alcove seating area warmed by the glow of a fire table. Fire bowls flank both sides of the pool, lighting the way to another large seating area at the water’s edge.”

Outdoor Kitchen
Lee Wetherington Homes
Cooking Alfresco
“The outdoor kitchen in this Venice residence in the community of Everly at Wellen Park is stunning and functional,” says designer Tracy Eisnaugle. “Dramatic dropped cloud ceilings anchor the space while creating brilliant lighting for the kitchen below. Powder coated metal custom cabinetry provides ample space for cooking, serving, and entertaining, while the leather-finished granite countertops complement the stone tile backsplash and stainless-steel appliances.”
