One can say the stars aligned for the return of Vladimir Kagan’s Capricorn collection, but the truth is this revival was the result of hard work and commitment. Originally introduced in 1952, the wire-framed furniture line was defined by sweeping curves, architectural lightness, and details that are emblematic of Kagan’s aesthetic, but it was discontinued in 2013 when the pieces became too costly and difficult to manufacture. Now part of the Holly Hunt inventory, the new edition of Capricorn, overseen by Chris Eitel, director of design and production at Vladimir Kagan Design Group, stays true to the original with a few adjustments for today’s lifestyle. The line includes a sofa, a chaise lounge, five tables, two chairs, and a bar stool. “We wanted to ensure that all edits and refinements made to the pieces were done with careful intentionality,” says Eitel. “We worked intimately with the manufacturing team to maintain that connection between designer and craftsmanship, which is at the heart of Kagan’s design DNA.”
