Renowned sculptor and designer Richard Frinier seamlessly blended his artistic expertise in scale and volume to create the Venetian collection in 1987, marking a pivotal moment for Brown Jordan. This collection, a triumph from its inception, has withstood the test of time to emerge as a perennial bestseller. Drawing inspiration from the enduring spirit of Neoclassicism, Venetian exudes an upright elegance, emphasizing meticulous craftsmanship in every detail, from its scrolling chair arms to the X-base tables and architectural banding.

Transporting us to the 19th century, Venetian incorporates exquisite touches reminiscent of that era, such as spiral volute details adorning the arms, architectural banding gracing the legs, and a distinctive x-back and cross-stretcher. The subtly flared and contoured back adds a touch of sophistication, creating a harmonious blend of classic design elements. Despite its lightweight and streamlined profile, Venetian effortlessly injects alfresco dining spaces with an abundance of charisma.

The prestigious Ritz Hotel in Paris recognized the timeless allure of Venetian’s classic high style, leading to a collaboration with Brown Jordan for a bespoke collection on its limestone-paved garden terrace adjacent to the illustrious Place Vendôme. Notably, esteemed architect Thierry Despont played a pivotal role in this collaboration, curating a collection that paid homage to Venetian’s elegance. The scroll-arm dining chairs, armchairs, and banquettes featured French-welted cushions, meticulously dyed to match the Ritz Hotel’s façade, elevating the overall aesthetic.

For the terrace at The Ritz, Paris, Thierry Despont further showcased his ingenuity by customizing Venetian with a lustrous finish named Caper, adding a shimmering touch that enhanced the collection’s allure. This collaboration not only reflected the synergy between timeless design and architectural finesse but also celebrated the adaptability of Venetian to diverse settings.

In essence, Richard Frinier’s Venetian collection is a testament to the enduring appeal of classic design and the seamless integration of artistry into functional pieces. Its journey from a breakout success in 1987 to gracing the terrace of The Ritz, Paris, exemplifies its ability to transcend time and captivate discerning audiences with its timeless elegance.
