With offices in Los Angeles and Milan, architect and designer Giampiero Tagliaferri’s approach to furniture design reveals his passion for superior craftsmanship and collectibles. His contributions to Minotti’s new 2024 collection showcase a clever play of shapes, materials, and textures. Case in point: The Supermoon seating system, a modular piece that takes its aesthetic cues from the 1970s and offers a variety of components that are equally strong together or separately. Just as sophisticated is his line of Ethan side tables, which are composed of a marble top with an irregular hexagonal shape and formed by two opposing squared “Cs” that join to create a central stem. “[I loved] the whole process,” says Tagliaferri of his Minotti baptism. “[It’s been] an incredible, seamless, and beautiful experience, like working with family.”
By all accounts, designer and architect Hannes Peer is a multitasker. The renowned German tastemaker delivered no less than 19 new designs for his collaboration with Minotti, and all of them hint at his training as a carpenter and his dedication to what he calls “holistic eclecticism.” Prime among his debuts are the various iterations of the Yves, a modular seating system (an homage to the late Yves Saint Laurent) that is marked by what Minotti describes as “rigorous volumes and organic shapes, rich in unexpected and dynamic couture details.” Other notable pieces in the Peer lineup include the Emmi, a generous armchair with a relaxed silhouette, and the Janis, a screen composed of geometric forms reminiscent of a puzzle.
