With premium water access and a location that befits its regal name, this 4,667-square-foot bayfront Naples residence in the affluent community of Port Royal captures views from every angle. A result of a close collaboration, builders Mark Wilson and Steve Miller assembled the design team consisting of architects Randall Stofft and John Cooney, and interior designer Jennifer Stevens. “We orientated everything to maximize the views and the indoor and outdoor living spaces,” Cooney says.
The exterior employs traditional architectural elements with the use of warm colors to achieve a timeless look. Stevens connects the inspiration for the interior to the exterior’s simplicity. “With a British West Indies style on the outside, we wanted to keep the interior clean and contemporary,” she says. The designer decided on a neutral light palette inside adding green accents to create warmth.
The open floor plan, inspired by the stunning views, features a great room arranged with two separate seating areas. In one area, a large taupe sectional is layered with custom accent pillows in green hues to add pops of color. Two Swaim armchairs add sophistication to form a comfortable conversation grouping.
Near a custom stairway designed by Romanza, the “chilled room,” a dedicated wine room paneled in walnut, displays over 300 bottles of wine. Nearby, white leather-clad chairs define a second seating area atop a neutral area rug from Kravet. Travertine flooring in a light hue connects the living space to the kitchen. “I just love the linear pattern tile,” Stevens says. “It reminds me of the sand, creating a soft and natural feel throughout the house.” In the contemporary kitchen, clean lines in crisp white, high-gloss cabinetry blend with rich warm tones in walnut cabinetry, all from AlliKristé. Granite quartzite counters from UMI top the island, a functional space perfect for preparing meals and casual dining.
Modern art enhances the home. In the study, an original painting titled The Professionals by artist Mark Pulliam adds subtle color. Nearby, a bronze sculpture from John-Richard lends bold distinction to the elegant dining room, where sophisticated Swaim side chairs and Jessica Charles host chairs surround a simple walnut dining table.
The wife’s bath is spa-like created with a bright white palette and a freeform tub that overlooks the lake. Topped with a dynamic slab of black-and-white marble from UMI, dark cabinetry in the husband’s bath offers contrast. “I wanted her bath to be bright and well-lit, and the husband’s bath to be rich and textural using deeper wood tones and lightly veined limestone flooring,” Stevens says.
In the master bedroom, a custom bed is backed by a headboard covered in a soft Robert Allen fabric. A Swaim bedside table in a rich dark wood adds sophisticated style to the contemporary arrangement.
Outfitted with a summer kitchen and an outdoor bar, the spacious terrace offers multiple seating options that include Danish-inspired chairs and Seasonal Living’s curvy white sofa. The team all agree that the stunning views of Cutlass Cove inspired them to create this home.
