This year’s edition of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach featured a historic first. Instead of one dwelling to transform, the 23 designers and architects who participated unleashed their aesthetic talents on two properties: the waterfront Intracoastal House at 3410 North Flagler Drive, and Palm Cottage, a charming villa just across the street in Northwood Shores. As usual, the participants’ entries—which ranged from reinvented breakfast rooms to a movie set-worthy mahjong-themed lounge—delighted visitors with their ingenuity, and among the winningest rooms were those conceived by designers based in Palm Beach County. Here’s a look at some of those efforts.

Flowing fabric layered over sunshades from The Shade Store, coupled with a decorative trim inlay from Kravet, complete the frame for the olive-green chairs hugging the rounded table in this dining room. In the nearby kitchen by Spectrum, eye-catching slabs of Dekton quartz, porcelain, and glass by Cosentino wrap the island with an organic print that resembles a natural stone with subtle spots of black, pale gold, and coffee brown. Viking’s new VEIL custom panel refrigerator paired with a freezer, oven and dishwasher, seamlessly integrate and elevated the design.

A reimagination of the kitchen breakfast room, this luminous space glows with soft jewel tones, blush walls, and inspiring artistry. At the heart of the room, a hand-painted white gold-leaf mural by Aqualille shimmers with quiet drama, casting a refined glow throughout the space. Casa Giovanni’s handcrafted rose gold butterfly installation delicately floats above the masterpiece, echoing the artist’s inspiration drawn from the beauty of the natural world. The sleek cast black Viking range delivers a modern aesthetics within the kitchen.

Conversation flows, elegance reigns, and competition is served with a sly smile at this mahjong-themed lounge. Mosaic Tessera on fiber paper wraps the walls, while Ensemble Resonance on linen adorns the ceiling, creating a layered look that’s both bold and refined. Each Shade Store window is dressed with custom valances and tailored drapery panels, adding softness, richness, and movement. Circular throw pillows, covered in fabrics by Lee Jofa and Brunschwig & Fils, add whimsy and texture, striking the perfect balance between chic and cozy. At the center, Made Goods’ mahjong table steals the show, its burl wood finish bringing a warm, organic contrast to the jewel-like surroundings around her.

Inspired by the glamour of Mustique and one of its most famous patrons, Princess Margaret, this sitting room features an inviting sense of coastal elegance, established through Brunschwig & Fils’ vibrant Nouvelle wallcovering, which envelops the space in a tropical scene. For added texture and architectural intrigue, custom trim work draws the eye to the ceiling to the blue-tinted mouldings painted in Benjamin Moore’s Grand Rapids 835. Formal English antiques provide an impression of timelessness and a reminder of home.

Designed to be both functional and transportive, this space unfolds as a refined vignette—one that rewards lingering glances and thoughtful detail. The walls are enveloped in a delicate floral wallpaper from Colefax and Fowler, its soft embroidery lending romance and movement while setting a serene, layered backdrop. Pale blue trim crisply frames the architecture, offering a tailored contrast that feels both fresh and timeless.

Sherrill Canet Interiors
Bordeaux wallpaper from York Wallcoverings lends the walls in this primary suite a serene, understated elegance, while Pierre Frey’s Andrea Riviere fabric adds a subtle hint of spice behind the custom bed upholstered in Scalamandré bouclé. Accent pillows, crafted in pale silks from Kravet and finished with silk brush fringe in celery from Samuel & Sons, enhance the room’s refined subtlety. Nearby, a pair of chairs upholstered in deep green velvet from Kravet introduce a vibrant note within an inviting conversational corner. Underfoot, a custom Stark carpet is soothing, graceful, and sumptuous, its bespoke design ensuring the space feels uniquely tailored to its occupants.
