Interior designer Marc Thee is a man who understands the principles and nuances of his profession quite well. His 4,000-square-foot house in Orlando is a testament to that knowledge. Elegant with a contemporary point of view, the residence speaks to its owner’s expertise and sophisticated taste.
“I was guided by function and intention,” says Thee. “I believe a well-designed home should take care of you, not the other way around.”
Said approach is evident in all the design decisions. A palette foundation of warm neutrals is anchored by bold hints of cobalt and aubergine. “Those hues repeat throughout in variations,” says Thee, “creating a rhythm that’s both grounded and expressive.” Textures are guided by what he calls his “Yes, please, all of it” philosophy with materials that “bring surprises according to the light—vibrant in the morning sun, then quietly shimmering by candlelight.” And then there are the furniture selections, which stick to the three Cs: curated, collectible, and custom. “This allowed me to design with specificity,” he says. “It’s like living inside a well-edited gallery of my own sensibilities.”
Above all, for Thee, home is about everyday pleasures: “I prioritized low-maintenance solutions and designed spaces that nurture quiet moments, intentional living, and reflection,” he says. “My house doesn’t just look good; it feels good!”
