From Boston to Palm Beach, interior designer Tui Pranich’s passion for architecture, unique design and fashion has created a luxurious lifestyle for his many clients. Whether working with traditional or transitional styles, the results are consistently outstanding leaving homeowners in awe every time. With nearly 8,000 square feet of space, the designer put his best foot forward to create a paradise usually found in dreams. Having a prior history with the owners’ Boston townhouse renovation, the designer had a keen sense of understanding of their design needs.

Fit for a king and queen, the living room is beyond exquisite as Pranich’s “no holds barred” approach takes the space to new levels. From the coffered ceiling, to the stately columns and silk hand-painted peach wall covering, every inch of the room radiates with elegance while creating balance. “Soft and romantic tones give a calm mood to the room,” the designer says. The French linen handmade area rug in a creamy shade of white is bordered with wood trim that lies handsomely over the sleek marble flooring. Taking a transitional approach, Pranich cautiously blends the contemporary style off-white silk sofas with French-inspired armchairs that are swathed in a gold leaf finish. The intricate, antique occasional table and an Art Deco-inspired Macassar ebony cocktail table join the transitional setting, where mirrored shelving instantly draws the eye through the room. Muted peach, off-white and gray silk draperies cast a soft punch of color. “I used a traditional stripe and gave it horizontal pattern opposed to the typical vertical one for a more contemporary updated look,” the designer says.

A repertoire of wondrous elements demonstrates the ultimate sophistication in the dining room, where a Regency style breakfront crafted of mahogany wood with gold trim complements the home’s overall architecture. “I used just the right amount of gold gilt accented pieces without overdoing it so the home remains classical and elegant,” Pranich says. Two oval mahogany dining tables fashion the space with intimacy for smaller family gatherings and expand to comfortably seat 10 guests at each table for larger social parties. Here, whitewashed chairs that have backs covered in silk and seats clad in leather create a unique mix of texture that dictates elegance and luxury. And with an estate setting in mind, Pranich selected the French limestone flooring — reminiscent of Old World charm.

Taking a fearless approach, the designer infused a touch of contemporary flair with a silk off-white chaise from J. Robert Scott in a hearthside sitting area. “The piece offers a modern clean look to the overall French Regency theme,” Pranich says. Gold tones prevail with a French antique armchair and a glass-topped cocktail table that is purely elegant with its ornate scroll legs. The center of the space calls attention to the glamorous white and gray marble fireplace — an element that bespeaks warmth.

Nearby, the well-dressed powder room is full of surprises with its multi-faceted intervention of international design. A hand-painted cabinet adds interest to the space with its black-lacquered Chinoiserie pattern, a dynamic way to create visual appeal. “It’s nice to have a mixture of furnishings,” the designer says. “I focused on a neutral color scheme to be able to blend period pieces together.”

Just outside, the patio area is outfitted for extreme entertaining with a fully equipped cabana, casual open-air dining areas, and a 60-foot-long pool that spans the length of the home. Bordered with 10-foot-high ficcus hedges for ultimate privacy, this home captures the essence of a five-star paradise retreat usually reserved for dreams.
