ABOVE: The study accommodates an oversized desk, a conversation area and custom cabinetry that provides display and storage space. The spiral stairway leads to the loft bedroom.

The gallery behind the dining area acts as a gathering spot for entertaining. Cypress-wood paneling and cabinetry line the wall, affording display space for the owners’ collectibles.
A pass-through connects the gallery to the spacious kitchen, which combines such materials as cherry wood, stainless steel and granite.
The kitchen adjoins the family room, where the seating comprises a sofa in seafoam-green fabric with fuschia dots, a deep blue lounge chair, and a slatted-wood chaise with a honey-colored cushion. A window seat tucks into the corner between the custom cabinetry and windows.

Upstairs, the loft bedroom takes in a panoramic view of the island’s coves and inlets. A serene ivory palette contrasts with cypress-wood walls and a beamed ceiling, imbuing the room with warmth and character.
From the loft, stairs descend to the study, where Rieniets placed a desk, comfortable seating and custom cabinetry.
Within the context of its natural setting, this home’s organic design draws strength from the past while embracing the present.
