Sunlight creates a play of shadows in the master bedroom,
where taupe and cream hues imbue the space with an air of tranquility.
Colombian artist Juan Manuel Hurtado’s painting suits the setting.

With the Miami skyline in the distance, the ambiance of the dining area is distinctly cosmopolitan. Ebonized-wood chairs upholstered in off-white Ultrasuede surround a glass-topped table with ebonized wood legs. In the sitting area, nubby chenille envelops the chair and ottoman, while striated raw silk wraps the sofa.
“I’m always intrigued by the juxtaposition of textures, particularly when working with a limited palette,” Haim says.
While wenge-wood cabinetry in the dining/sitting area houses dinnerware, the cabinetry in the living area accommodates media equipment.

Cream-colored fabrics and dark-wood furnishings maintain the light and dark contrast established in the dining/sitting area. Club chairs with ebonized-wood frames and a sofa gather around a Macassar ebony cocktail table with an ivory leather surface. Sliding-glass doors allow the azure blue of the ocean to become part of the room’s palette.
Throughout the interior, Eastern influences flavor Haim’s design, as evidenced by her choice of accessories and art. One piece commands attention upon entering the apartment — a framed composition of Buddhist proverbs that hangs in the hallway to the master bedroom.
